WOO HOO!!!!!

I just got my first weeks unemployment check for $144! And according to the paper work I can get up to $3417!

I am honestly looking for work though. And this money will help me pay the bills until then. At first the bastards rejected me though because I was in school. I could have been getting money for the past couple of weeks.

I sort of feel like doing the Scrooge McDuck--rolling around in a big vault of cash. Someday when I'm rich, I'm gonna get me one of those vaults, with the diving board and all. But, I won't put any coins in there. Diving into coins would hurt. Then again, so do paper cuts.

But what does it matter? I got paid for doing nothing! There's no sweeter job than that.
Mmmm. French Fries.

I've eaten wayyyy too much fast food during the past week. Went out to dinner last Thursday at Bancheros, this awesome family owned Italian joint (had cheese and crab stuffed fried shrimp). Dinner again Saturday at this greasy restaurant in Santa Cruz near the boardwalk (fried shrimp, fried clam strips, fried scallops, and fried oysters). Sunday I had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes (so at least I had soup and salad and such)and dinner at Red Lobster (traditional fried shrimp, beer-battered shrimp, and shrimp scampi). Then on Monday I had lunch at Black Angus (fried shrimp). Tuesday, lunch was at Red Robin (skipped the shrimp and went for the California Club Roll with clam chowder--very, very good). Then dinner Tuesday night was at Hungry Hunter for Jon's birthday (more fried shrimp). And Wednesday we had lunch at Chevy's (skipped the shrimp fajitas and went for chicken--always a fave). But did go back to the seafood for dinner Wednesday night (tuna salad), though it was also homemade. Then a brief hiatus on Thursday. And then yesterday a slice of cheese pizza from this pizza joint across the street from my old high school where I was helping to present Conflict Management awards at the Senior's Farewell Rally. And then Chevy's again that night, with good ol' chicken fajitas as my meal of choice.

But my stomach is telling me it's not very happy. So, for the next couple of days (if I can help it) it's nothing but good old-fashioned home cooked meals. Otherwise I may just wear a hole in my stomach.

I'll definitely lay off the shrimp for a while...
I hate spam. Has anyone ever tried to register the spammers email addresses with email lists so they get spammed? How about the email addresses where you send the unsubscribe info? I realize some of the addresses don't work, but some do!
They're after me again!!!!! I swear these spiders have a conspiracy against me. They seek me out wherever I am and I can hear them saying "Danielle...Dannnyeeellll...we're coming for you..." And they do!!!

Okay, so maybe one hasn't devoured me whole yet. But I'm convinced that one day I'll wake up half eaten alive by spiders. Or maybe they'll just lay eggs in me like that urban legend.

Well, I guess I should get a move on it. I'm supposed to go to an estate sale with my mom. Who knows what kind of crap I'll find! Maybe one day you'll see me on the Antiques Roadshow.

Congress demands a retractable dome for the Capitol Building. AKA the stupidity of the media (and this time it's not our own!).

If you need proof that the government doesn't work, just take a look at the controversy within the FBI. We all know the horror of standing in line at the DMV. We've all heard stories about the gross inefficiency of government agencies. But we typically have reserved that criticism for agencies that deal heavily with public demand like welfare offices, DMV, unemployment offices, etc. But now the FBI has come into question.

It just proves the point that government can't do their job. They have the exact opposite of the Midas Touch--everything they touch turns to shit. Anything controlled by the government is so full of waste and bureaucracy that it can't be efficient. Privitization is the way to go. Make these agencies have to meet a bottom line. As it goes now, there is in reality no bottom line for them. They screw around at our expense until 3000 people die in one of the worst acts of terrorism this world has ever seen.

But, in semi-defense of the FBI and the CIA, even if they did have information that could have led to the prevention of 9/11 we have to remember that hindsight is 20/20. Sure, it's easy to put the pieces of the puzzle together when you know what the completed puzzle looks like. It's just like watching an old mystery where the detective is figuring out who the killer is. While you're watching you're trying to figure it out yourself. But usually you still don't have a clue as to whodunnit until the detective triumphantly thrusts a finger in the air and explains how some strange and seemingly insignificant piece of evidence that nobody else in their right minds ever would have noticed has solved the case. And then when you think back to earlier in the show it all makes perfect sense to you now. Of course so-and-so did it! It was so obvious from the beginning. The evidence was right there. But, like I said, hindsight is 20/20.

Plus with all the PC bullshit against "racial profiling" they never would have been able to do anything to stop it. People would have been crying that it was racial profiling, and that they were unfairly targeting a certain group of people. And even though it was a group of Arab men who flew those planes into the Trade Centers and the Pentagon, we have to search little old ladies (to confiscate their knitting needles in case they try to knit an afghan!) and 12 year old girls to be sure they don't have weapons or bombs hidden on their person, while the real threats are slipping through because we wouldn't want to be guilty of racial profiling. We wouldn't want to just stop Arabs and check them out because that wouldn't be fair, even though it is Arabs (though not all Arabs) behind these attacks. Invariably innocent people will be hassled by being checked. But, if they are truly innocent it shouldn't be a problem. They should realize that at least they can rest comfortably on their flight knowing that security is making sure that the bad guys are caught. But instead people get incredibly offended by being questioned or searched, while at the same time complaining that the government doesn't do enough to protect them. Argh! I hate hypocrites! And unfortunately this world (and especially this country) is full of them.

Sorry people, but logic and common sense are dead.
Yikes! So it's been a few days since I've posted. Life's been hectic. I've been auditing a class on Police Mediation that my neighbor teaches for the past three days. Plus, Jonathan's birthday was last night so that kept me fairly busy too.

I don't have anything really deep to say at this time, so instead I'll give you something random to snack on.
